i been listening to fats wallers FOOLIN MYSELF ---one funky bad ass musician he was----- a true original ----altho they credit that song often to someone else---does anyone know why??----well i think its a long story but dont ever give up your publishing bro'!!---the versions of 'foolin' i like are----shirley horns---'you wont forget me' cd and lee konitz--"motionlee" on verve---shirley horns is the most up to date recording of the song and btw she swings her ass off!! check her out if you havent---the first one to start with is 'heres to life' a desert island disc if i ever heard one---now run tell that!!

Online Lessons

I’ve been teaching online lessons for a while now. I’ve developed a system that works pretty good. The student needs to be mildly technologically inclined. Nothing too heavy. We do duets, work on stuff together and talk.

One of my students decided to try setting up a blog. The blog is here. His idea is for me and him to work on stuff and have other people post ideas also. What a cool way to study right? Getting feedback from other people besides me. I dig it!

I think it’s so rude when someone answers a phone while there’s music playing.

I was actually at a Chris Potter concert when some guy in the audience started to play all his ring tones. I flipped and yelled at him even though he seemed much bigger than me. That was just too rude.
